Akure Toyosi Global Foundation (ATGF), a non-governmental and non-profit making organisation, has donated school uniforms and writing materials to indigent pupils in Yagba West Local Government Area.
Founded by New York-based Mr Toyosi Bolaji, the foundation, in continuation of humanitarian services targeting the less-privileged people of the area since 2017 also assisted with the payment of school fees.
The donations which took a team of ATGF volunteers round 23 schools across the Town Council and the Area Council of the local government, was done in two phases.
There was a special case of five pupils of same parents whose mother had died after the delivery of a triplet. The triplet, two boys and a girl, and their two sisters all of ECWA Primary School, Oke Egbe were provided with their education needs, including school sandals and school fees covering the year 2018, in addition to school uniforms and writing materials.  The foundation also pledged to keep an eye on their progress for the future.
One of the ATGF volunteers, Adebowale Gold Muyiwa, expressed joy and satisfaction giving to the needy, with a promise to do more in the  nearest future, to extend the gesture to other schools not covered in the first and second phases.
His words: “Help others and give without the expectation of receiving in return. We fulfilled our promises on giving out writing materials to indigent pupils and students across Yagba West LGA and during this process we realized a lot of these pupils and students can’t afford to pay their fees and good school uniforms. We were able to give support in the payment of their fees and also make new, befitting uniforms available for them.”
He added, “The first and second stages have since been completed covering 23 schools across Yagba West LGA.  We might not have been able to reach out to few schools just yet, but surely it’s all getting covered. Real generosity toward the future lies in giving all to the present”.
In his comment, Comrade Kingsley Kusagba, the Liaison Officer, Kogi State Ministry of Education Area Office, Yagba West, Odo-Ere, saluted the giving spirit of ATGF founder, Toyosi Bolaji, describing him a “young, visionary leader with special passion for the less privileged and the downtrodden masses”.
He added, “May God reward your labour of love. My brother, your selfless service to humanity most especially to the indigent students/pupils will surely be rewarded by almighty God. You will soar higher in life and attain greater heights in Jesus name. I’m proud of you.”
