Kogi state commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mr. Oloruntoba Kehinde, has assured that 2017 state budget will reflect the needs of the people and the manifesto of the Governor Yahaya Bello-led administration.
According to a press statement signed by the media aide to the commissioner, Dr. Tolu Omotugba, the budget is in line with the ‘new direction’ agenda of the governor, hence it will not entertain any form frivolous appropriation or expenditure.
He highlighted five cardinal sectors of the economy that will be given preferential consideration while preparing the 2017 Budget: Education, Health, Youth Empowerment, Infrastructure Development and Pension Reforms.
The inter-minsterial budget defense is expected to last for three weeks before further processing of the final documents for the benefit of the state.
