The Kogi State Government has assured of a level playing field for all PDP aspirants vying for elective offices in the forth coming party primaries.
Kogi State Governor Capt Idris Wada stated this when he received in audience members of the National Assembly Screening Committee in his office.
Capt Wada disclosed that an enabling environment has been created for all aspirants, assured that the PDP would present only credible candidates for the next year’s general election.
Capt Wada assured that despite the presence of opposition political parties in the political space of the state, described the PDP as a very strong, united and viable party that would win in all the forth coming general election in the state.
While noting that the state has remained a PDP state since 1999, the well articulated policies put in place by the present administration that has uplifted the living standard of the people he disclosed has further boosted the chances of the party.
Capt Wada urged the screening committee to be diligent in their assignment, pointing out that the PDP in the state is peaceful and one united family, said with the level playing field created, the best candidates would emerge.
In his remarks, Sen Musa Bello, Chairman of the National Assembly Screening Committee, said the Committee would be firm in their assignment, by being unbiased and fair to all aspirants.
Also Speaking, Hon Hassan Salawu, State Chairman of the PDP, said the party would not impose candidate, assuring that the party aside maintaining its dominance in the state in the forth coming general election, remains the party whose programmes and policies would move the state to the next level of development.
