200 Adavi, Okehi Students Benefit as Rep Abdulraheem Danga Pays Another N10million Scholarship

For the second time, the member representing Adavi-Okehi federal constituency, Hon. Abdulmaleek Abdulraheem Danga, has released ten million Naira to pay full tuiton fees of 200 students studying at the Federal College of Education, Okene.

The lawmaker paid N10million for same scholarship initiative last year.

The 10,000,000 Naira covers the full scholarship of 200 of students comprising of 100 students from Adavi and 100 students from Okehi local government area.

He disclosed this when the management team delegation, led by the College Registrar, two Deputy Provost (academic and administrative), chairman of all staff associations and the president of Alumni Association paid him a thank you visit.

In a opening remark by the Chairman, All Staff Associations of the College, Dr. Godwin Oyigbo emphasized how the last year scholarship payment had remain fresh in their memory because it was unique in the history of FCE Okene.

The representative of the beneficiaries, Itopa Godwin, expressed gratitude to the House of Representatives member as he said it is not every body that can do the lawmaker had done. Itopa said he don’t think of school fees anymore and he knows how some of his colleagues struggle to get their fees paid.

The College Registrar, Dr. Umar Yunusa also appreciated the kind gesture of the lawmaker.

“This period is a difficult period for everyone of us. For a man too dip his hand into his pocket to bring this huge amount to sponsor 200 students a gesture that the college appreciate well and we pray God continue to elevate you,” he said.

Dr. Godwin also added that for Hon. Danga to pay another 10,000,000 Naira scholarship without knowing who those students are is a very rare gesture.

Hon. Abdulmaleek Abdulraheem Danga said as an elected member of the House of Representatives, his priority is bringing dividends of democracy to his people and meeting their needs.

“I love giving back to my community and for now the only way to I can do that is building the youths for leadership position and this can only be done through quality education. That’s what we are doing to support the diligent students who doesn’t have the means and resources but are determined to go to school. The testimonies will spur me to do more as there are people out there who need supports.
