20 ‘School on Wheels’ Trainees Get NDE Loans in Kogi

National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has began distribution of starter packs to the 20 graduated trainees in computer programming and fashion design of the ‘School On Wheels’ (SOW) scheme in Kogi state.

Speaking at the disbursement ceremony in Lokoja, the Director General of NDE, Mall. Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo who was represented by the Deputy Director, Vocational Skills Development Department, Mr. Offia L. A. Obinna, said the effort was aimed at making the beneficiaries self reliant and employers of labour in the nearest future as a multiplier effect of the directorate’s job creation programme.

He charged them with promoting attitudinal change, adding that “idleness is the devil’s workshop.”

The State Coordinator NDE, Mr. Ibidun Abiodun Amos in his speech lauded the Director General of NDE for his enviable efforts geared towards ensuring the actualisation of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration.

On his part, the HOD of the Vocational Skills Development Department in the State, Mall. Adam Yakubu Abubakar, in a welcome address, stated that the Directorate deemed it necessary to organize the workshop on management training in order to upskill the knowledge of the beneficiaries as they were eager to establish their own businesses and contribute their quota to the economic and social development of the country.
