Two people have died in an auto crash that occurred on Lokoja-Abuja road on Monday morning.
The Sector Commander of the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kogi, Mr Garba Mohammed, confirmed this to newsmen in Lokoja.
He said that the crash happened at Magaiya village about 25 minutes drive to Lokoja, and that it involved a white Toyota passenger bus with registration number Lagos 454 LSD.
He said that the persons killed were a man and a woman, who were among the five persons traveling in the bus when the accident occurred.
Mohammed said that three other occupants, including the driver sustained various degrees of injury and were receiving treatment at the Specialist Hospital, Lokoja.
The sector commander blamed the accident on tyre burst which caused the bus to somersault, adding that the driver was probably on high speed when the incident occurred.
He said that the two corpses had been deposited at the morgue of the specialist hospital, while the commission was making efforts to contact their relatives through cell phone.
