1st Year in Office: Group Celebrate Health Technology Idah Acting Provost, Anataku Shaibu

The coordinator, Kogi Youth Network, Comrade Danfulani Lukman, today, celebrate the acting Provost, Kogi State College of Health Science and Technology Idah, Sanitarian Umar Anataku Shaibu, as he marked his 1st anniversary with a series of landmark achievements that have significantly transformed the institution’s trajectory

His leadership has been characterized by academic excellence, infrastructural development, and innovative reforms that have elevated the institution’s profile both locally and internationally.

Under his tenure, the college has witnessed improvements in research output, expansion of academic programs, and fostering of a conducive learning environment for students and staff.

Sanitarian Umar Anataku achievements are a testament to his visionary leadership and dedication to advancing the institution’s mission.

Sanitarian Umar Anataku Shaibu, acting Provost of the Kogi State College of Health Science and Technology Idah, marked his 1st anniversary with key achievements, including the conduct of the first ever CBT examinations for probation exam of year one students for credibility and transparency, lightening of the college campus and student hostels in ensuring consistent power supply and to address electricity needs of the college.

Comr. Danfulani further highlighted the completion and accreditation of some college courses within 1 year of Umar Anataku,

  1. full accreditation for HND in environmental health from the NBTE. This is the first of its kind since the establishment of the college in 1976
  2. Secured full accreditation of HND health information technology from the NBTE first of its kind
  3. full accreditation of HND health information course from the Health Records officers Registration board of Nigeria
  4. full accreditation from the dental therapists registration board of Nigeria.
    And visit from some other boards are now on the pipeline.

Comr. Danfulani further highlighted other milestones such as infrastructure development,

  1. Renovation of the college admin block
  2. Renovation of the college entrepreneurship development centre
  3. aggressive improvement of the college conference room
  4. Rehabilitation of lecture halls
  5. Introduction of health information department (ICT room)
  6. Establishment of health information dept demonstration room
  7. Esterblishment of E LIBRARY in the college
  8. purchase of computer sets for training of students
  9. Extension of water to the college hostel blocks
  10. Extension of water to the college clinic, noting “there are few projects left in the college to be completed. Many uncompleted projects are receiving serious attention while many have been completed.

”Comr. Danfulani also disclosed that for the first time in years, academic and non-academic staff and students received top-most priority, as
sponsorship of staff to seminars, workshops, symposium, and professional conferences and training are adopted.

Comr. Danfulani commended the college management team for the efforts geared towards conducting findable research, which has further consolidated the image of the institution as a formidable college.

The entire members of Kogi Youth Network sincerely commend Umar Anataku for his doggedness and transformative approach to leadership that has resulted in a plethora of achievements within one year.

The group commended the Provost, Umar Anataku, for the achievements made within one year. They also commended his stance for placing academic excellence, staff, and students’ welfare as his priority. To develop the much needed infrastructure by completing abandoned projects and executing new ones is worthy of commendation.

“The group is particularly happy to work with him and his management team to steer our great citadel of learning to enviable heights. There is still much to be done, but it is a good thing that so far we have seen wonderful outcomes,” they said.
