In an originating summon filled before FCT high court by Barr. Oladapo Otitoju and Aboje Atta on behalf of the defendant, Honourable Olabode Adeyemi are seeking outright declaration of the applicant as the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) National Youth Leader with pursuant to article 27.2(e) of the PDP constitution which says a youth is a person between age 18-40 as the applicant is the only candidate within the age bracket among the 11 aspirants that contested the election.
The 1st respondent is Alh Garba Chiza the appointed National Youth Leader who at the time of contest was 63 years and PDP as 2nd respondent, among other relief sought by the applicant is an order restraining the 1st respondent from further parading himself as the national youth leader of PDP pending the determination of the matter
??And also a declarative order for the 2nd respondent (PDP) from recognising the 1st respondent as the National Youth Leader.
?Feelers within the party has it that the presidency and the national chairman of PDP are well disposed to the suit challenging the youth leader as the crises of power tussle between the presidency and the Nigerian Governor’s Forum deepens, the youth leader is said to be a core loyalist of Governor of Niger state and chairman northern governors forum who is at opposition with the 2015 presidency of Goodluck Jonathan.
?Meanwhile a coalition of the Nigerian youth group have given the National Youth Leader a 7 days ultimatum to resign the office or face the anger of the youth, in the words of the coordinator at a press conference in Abuja yesterday, Hon Inuwa Jibril called on all PDP elders and stakeholders to prevail on the 63 year old Chiza Garba to resign and stop embarrassing the party and the youth.
Very impeccable source has it that there is intense pressure on Olabode Adeyemi from the National Youth Leader to withdraw his suite from court and seek internal redress mechanism, attempt to reach Hon Bode Adeyemi as at press time proved abortive as him mobile no was not available for questioning
??It will be recalled that the crises in PDP has consumed its first casualty, Prince Oyinlola, the former Governor of Osun State who was recently removed by an Abuja Federal High Court, Garba Chiza is most likely to be the next casualty of the ongoing crises of the party.
