“The youthful Governor, whose priority is to curb insecurity in our society, recently recruited 1500 youths for vigilante services. Currently, 500 youth are undergoing training for same purposes, the target is 5000.
“The youth empowerment initiative agenda of Kogi State Government empowered 2500 youths through basic skill acquisition program early this year 2017.
“Arrangement is concluded for government enterprise and employment program where 5000 Kogi youth will be empowered. Kogi state government, in partnership with Central Bank of Nigeria Entrepreneurship Development Centre recently rolled out youth participation and skill acquisition program. Enrollment is ongoing as we speak.
“Government has empowered 8,000 youths for Fadama agricultural projects and 2,000 youths for Anchor Borrower’s programmes through the ministry of agriculture.
“Last year, 450 youths were absorbed by Kogi State Board of Internal Revenue from the labour market, while 100 youths were employed for forestry jobs through the ministry of environment and natural resources. 160 youths were also engaged as environmental health attendants for sanitation from same ministry. The state government, through the ministry of health recently recruited 2,235 youths across the state,” he said.
