Thugs’ Machete Man for Complaining Over Unpaid Salaries in Okehi

The Okehi local government councillors have dragged the Council boss, Hon. Hassan Okehi Yusuf to Kogi state House of Assembly over his style of administration which they described as anti-people.

On a one page petition letter they forwarded to Kogi state house of assembly dated 11th April, 2014 made available to www.kogireports.com, the councillors condemned the dehumanization act of the Chairman and his supporters noting that instead of addressing issues in the council, they have become a terror to opposing Councillors and any other council workers who dear complained about unpaid salaries to workers and the Councillor.

The councillors in their remark to Kogi State Speaker said, ‘it is important for you to know that after our letter to you, on 14th February, 2014, the Executive Chairman of Okehi LG, Hon. Hassan Okehi Yusuf exercised arbitrary power by using the Nigeria Police through Area Commander Office, Okene to molest us and seize our Legislative Council Bus from us. Photocopy of the motion moved in reference to this issue, is also attached to this letter’.

‘Also on 17th February, 2014, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Hassan Okehi Yusuf organised his thugs to beat one of our Councillor’s Brother after they chased Hon. Abdulrahaman Salawu, the Councillor representing Uboro/Omavi/Ohuepe Ward and he escaped from death. A report of this incident was made to the Police. ‘Due to the complain we made to the Kogi State House of Assembly, the Executive Chairman in his desperation stopped the Two (2) months Councillor’s monthly salary from February and March, 2014’.

‘We also want to let the House Committee on Public Petitions & Human Right know that notwithstanding, the being perpetrated budget, the Executive Chairman has refused to pay the LG Staff salary of which he owned Seven (7) month salaries, including the Councillor’s entitlement/allowances, after over Four Hundred Staffs have been sacked’.

‘The new chat payment has just started in January, 2014 despite the instruction of Kogi State House of Assembly dated on 21st May, 2013. The photocopy letter of the instruction from Kogi State House of Assembly to the LG is also attached to this letter’.

‘It is crucial to note that our lives are no more safe as the Executive Chairman, Hon. Hassan Okehi Yusuf and his thugs have continue to threaten to finish and eliminate us’.

‘Finally Sir, the Speaker and the House Committee on Public Petition & Human Right, we therefore seek for your urgent intervention in this serious matter’.
