The Supreme Court on Wednesday in Abuja upheld the election of Senator Ahmed Ogembe as the senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial district.
It would be be recalled that senator Ahmed Ogembe had defeated Ohiare at the two lower courts. (Tribunal and Appeal).
Ohiare, not satisfied with the rulings, proceeded to the supreme court despite having the knowledge that National Assembly elections cases ends at the court of the Appeal.
The supreme court, therefore resolved all cases sort in favour of senator Ahmed Ogembe, thus; bringing the matter to conclusion and ending the long legal tussle.
In a swift reaction through his media aide, Senator Ogembe, thanked God for the judgment and urged the judiciary to continue to live as the last hope of the common man.
“I thank my brother, Senator Ohiare because none of us incite violence over this matter, we have gone through the laid down process which is the court.
“I, therefore, urge Ohiare to support me in working for the interest of our people” he added.
Ogembe thanked the people for believing in him and promised to make them proud of the huge trust bestowed on him.Share this on WhatsApp
