Report on Kogi Communities; Challenges and My Candid Advise to State Government

Your Excellency Sir,

Good day to you sir, it’s my pleasure to reach out to you with some challenges facing by some communities and possible solution. I think should be apply to sort them out, those issues.

In a couple of days while I’m on my annual leave, I took some time out of my busy moment to visit some communities (self inspection) and some fault were discovered, detected and there’s need for the state government to give it attention to these area.

Some of the local governments visited are; Ofu Idah, Ankpa, Igalamela respectively. And each Local government has the following villages under them and their challenges.

OJODU COMMUNITY

Ojodu community need the following: Primary Health Care Centre (PHC) more portable water, professional teacher for it community Secondary School, Corps members, Corpers’ lodge, vigilatee office, modern market, e.t.c

Ogbabo community need drainages, access road from federal road to its town, portable water, quality education e.t.c

OCHADAMU

Ochadamu community has no drinkable water, poor education facilities, drainages, need to introduce environment sanitation to keep the (gutter) to clean at all the time. Their erosion is another big challenge. Government should intervene on road from Okele Ejule to Ochadamu police station erosion control and cleaning of carnals.

UMOMI

Umomi community first challenge is control of the village erosion especially this season of rains. Secondly, no drinkable water constructed in the land. Finally they need permanent land for community  market where they should engage in exchange of goods and services (buying and selling) and many more.

AKPAGIDIGBO

Akpagodigbo community lack drinkable water, no drainage on the road, which also contribute to the destruction of the road construction previously.

UGWOLAWO

Ugwolawo community may have need many things but the few I detected are; they need fresh road contructions, the local government office need a stand by generator, same applicable to other LGA in Kogi State. Ugwolawo road is abandoned by the past  administrations, the government should please bail it out.

IGALAMELA

Igalamela community; some of error detected include; absent of drainages, wrong parking of vehicles by motorist, double parking, there’s need for expansion of Ajaka Road networks.

Finally inconvenient environment for (Spirits) petrol stations, many petrol station on this road are located in tight corner. God forbid it may lead to explosion. Incident occur in the process of delivering oil to the marketers.

Some of the marketers don’t have station.

OGBAGBA

Ogbagba community is located in Ajaka, they may have other complaint but, these were discovered. It need the state government effort to please continue the ongoing road construction projects there. The road started from Idah and presently stop, pause, mute at U.E.C church Ogbagba Ajaka. We wait for the government to complete the project as we look forth to see its commissioning soon.

IDAH

Idah community reports, from Ajaka to Idah need quality road network, the centre and road demarcation need (flower) plant in between the centre.

Secondly, there’s need for the cleaning the excess (sand) on this roads. It need drainages, finally the Palace of (HRM) the Attah of Igala palace need (CCTV) cameras for security reasons.

ON OTHER COMMUNITIES ROAD REPORTS

Kogi generally need stable electricity, water, good road network. The Ajaokuta, Lokoja and Okene road need urgent attention and intervention to fix the road.

Ankpa road need intervention of the state government. Portholes has taking over the access road, your excellency do some fast about Ankpa, Ikanekpo, Emere, Ojoku and Odogomu communities all in ankpa Local Government.
