The people of Bunu, in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State have decried the poor state of their roads.
Stakeholders in the district which comprise of about 40 towns and villages  say the region has been suffering neglect and abandonment on the part of government in all tiers which they say is responsible for the dilapidated state of infrastructure in the region.
Against this background, a group of stakeholders under the auspices of Bunu Emancipation Team (BET) said there is a need for government to build the roads and address infrastructural challenges in the region.
The Team Coordinator, Mr. Olu Majek who decried the state of road in the region, said enough is enough as the state of the road has crippled economic activities in the region
“Bunu District, in spite of having a large population and the largest votes in Kabba/Bunu LGA, has been abandoned by successive military and civilian administrations. Our silence has been mistaken for satisfaction. Now is the time cry out for the world to understand our predicament.”
“We are farmers and traders, we cannot transport our farm produce because of poor roads, our farm produce are perishing, we need roads, we deserve infrastructure” he added.
He said the the team has launched a campaign for Bunu Development which is to run from August 1st to August 10th, 2017.
During this time, we will display the stickers of Bunu dilapidated roads as our profile pictures (carrying the slogan: I stand with Bunu, #Enough is Enough).
