A former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Kogi State, Mr. Simeon Maha, has expressed confidence in the ability of the party to return to power in the state.

Maha added that the All Progressives Congress (APC) which just won the last governorship elections in the state cannot wish away PDP because of its strength.

Maha lamented that more than 24 years after the creation of the state it has not witnessed enough development in almost every sector.
“We have a serious problem of laying a solid foundation for the growth of the state.  We are yet to realise the Kogi of our dream,” he said.
He appealed to Governor Yahaya Bello and other leaders in the state to strive to leave Kogi better than they met it.
Maha said that one of the challenges militating against the development of the state is lack of unity among ethnic groups in the state.
He appealed to elite to enlighten the people on the need to tolerate and love one another.
Maha who was one time chairman of Dekina Local Government, berated some members of PDP who defected to APC because it lost last general elections.
