This piece seeks to delineate some facts from fiction, in order to tell the reality of what a healthy politics should be and if not, what is the consequences amidst solutions. Moreover, the paper will do a symbiotic analysis between ‘global warming’ and the current ‘political pauperism’ of being represented but lack representation in Omala-Olamaboro-Ankpa Federal constituency.
Over the years, some Earth scientists have discovered ‘global warming’ as dangerous to our survival but in a more subtle way, deficiency in dividends of democracy to the people and silent representative in Omala-Olamaboro-Ankpa Federal constituency could be more mordacious than not.
The term ‘global warming’ refers to the “increase in in heat due to increase in certain greenhouse gases”. Geographically, the solar radiation (heat from the sun) is some times trapped by the greenhouse gases, thereby preventing the emission of ‘infra-red radiation’ (a reciprocal heat back to the atmosphere), this is what causes ‘global warming’. This has no difference from our experience of politics in the area.
Consequently, the heat of voting candidate(s) and not getting its dividends is quite alarming, most especially in our legislative position(s). The clarity of how consistently we have remained victims of our own decisions probably subsist our consciousness of realizing this inconsequential sandbag of voting candidates without consideration. In a bid to hold the specific of the above reality, to think, reexamine our mind of where we have gotten it wrong shouldn’t be negotiable and if the fact finding of going back to the drawing board to start from the crash become somewhat cumbersome, thus; abuse or blame is inevitable but our past mistakes is no means insurmountable, if only we are determined to rewrite our wrongs, politically in 2019.
Between ‘political upheaval’ and ‘global warming’, there seems to exist similitude, that is, the ‘solar radiation’ represents our votes, the politicians (elected) and their cohorts represent the ‘green house gases’, while the supposed dividends of democracy represent ‘Infra-red radiation’ that is trapped by our so-called voted representatives. Thereby causing untold hardship which can be liking to ‘global warming’.
This effect has shown itself boldly in areas such as; ecological degradation, total collapse in our educational system at all levels, bridge in our human right laws in the area, deteriorating conditions of our motor-able roads, lack of adequate scholarship scheme, deplorable health condition of people in the area, which have often results to death of many, lack of basic social amenities, most excruciating of all is the helpless economic situation in the said constituency. Amidst these indecorous situations, we seemed not to hear any agitations towards how government through adequate legislation can come to our aide. Could this be a misrepresentation somewhere? What should we do?
I know many will accuse me of taking side or probably say; Hon Austeen Anibe Otene will be no difference if elected. On that note, I will want to say that, you have more time to assess him yourself before voting him in 2019, so as to have your own judgement of him instead of to remain gullible to what I or any other may say of him. Here is my judgement of him; he is open minded to the course of liberation of his own people, it will also interest you to know that we have gotten a maiden intelligent candidate in the history of our constituency. You will also agree with me that what has culminated in back bench warming syndrome in our legislative positions could be born out of not being eloquent, a fact, Austeen Anibe Otene has demonstrated beyond rhetoric, so far, he is capable of outshining the speaker if elected; he has been disposed to so many public lectures, a situation which earned him a mark of an Orator. His experience as a carrier surveyor, an experienced entrepreneur and an easy going politician will remained a source we can not exhaust in the transformational bid of our dear constituency. He is well travelled, so, the contour of both his Nigeria experience and beyond its shore will spice up our dream as a people. Above all, he is God fearing, this he has vowed not to compromise hitherto, regardless of any chance it will rob him of. He is a man, I admire from afar. He is God sent, an option we can not let go.
This is my judgement, please NO APPEAL.
