The government has shown that the welfare of workers and pensioners in the state are not its priority. Workers and pensioners have been subjected to meaningless screenings and futile verification exercises.
The local government workers and teachers have not been paid for some months, pointing out that they had been subjected to untold hardship.
Workers have been subjected to all kinds of belittling treatments in the name of screening and verification that have not yielded any fruits apart from subjecting them to extreme hardships. Workers and Pensioners have been suffering while their families have been languishing due to the non-payment of wages.
The consultant has proven to be very incompetent in handling payment of salaries while the bank handling payment has clearly shown that it is confused.
We understand that the President has approved the Paris Club refund and our state got a whopping sum of billions, yet we have not heard anything from the state government. They need funds to take care of their families because some of them now borrow money from friends and colleagues in other States to survive.
Few days ago, some protesters were armed with different placards as they chanted solidarity songs and hurled abuses on the government, accusing it of deliberately denying civil servants their entitlements and wages.
The governor is just not being compassionate to the suffering and plight of workers. Life has become unbearable for them due to the recalcitrant character of this government.
