Kogi United are set to continue their bright start to the new Nigeria National League, NNL season with a clash against FC Taraba on Saturday.

The Group A2 encounter billed for Jolly Nyame Stadium, Jalingo is the first fixture for FC Tabara who were drawn bye on the opening day.

Kogi United will strife towards replicating last season’s result and performance against the hosts when they claimed the match points with 3-1 victory.

Kogi United’s midfielder, Eghe Osas has expressed optimism that his side were more focused and determined to repeat last season’s feat in Jalingo.

Osas who scored two goals in United’s 5-0 humbling of FC Yarmalight in Matchday One said he’s expecting a tough game on Saturday but believed the Confluence State Boys  have what it takes, experience and zeal, to get a decent result.

“We are fully ready for Taraba, we want to continue where we stopped in game one and we are determined to get total points here.

“It may not be an easy game, you know this is their first match of the season and they will want to start well but we also want to keep the momentum, we are more determined and I believe experience we’ve got will help us,” he said.

Kogi United have won three out of last four meetings with FC Tabara.

Taraba’s only victory was a 2-1 win in 2017 in Jalingo.

The last meeting between both sides was last season’s 3-1 for Kogi United at Taraba’s adopted home in Katsina-Ala.
