The Administrator of Lokoja local government area of Kogi State, Hon. Lawal Shiru, has restated his commitment towards improving the standards of living and well-being of the entire residents of the council area, just as he commenced immediate rehabilitation and grading of Jamata-Abugi road.
Shiru, while conducting media men round the project site, said the road project will run in phases in all the rural areas adding that the council had just started with Jamata-Abugi road.
He lamented that the Jamata-Abugi road has been impassable for motorists while cyclists make circuitous journeys and charge exorbitant prices to convey people from one community to another.
He, therefore, charged the people and communities concerned to support the government and the men handling the road project.
Mallam Musa Adoga, who spoke for Jamata community said the road has been in disrepair for decades while successive governments paid no attention till the arrival of Shiru who has started grading the road with drainage.
He noted that Jamata and adjoining communities which have the largest population in the locality, has suffered untold hardship, saying that the incumbent council boss has proved that he came to serve and not to be served which was the order of the day in the past.
Adoga, who thanked the council boss for the gesture, explained that the coming of Shiru will remain indelible in the minds of the  people for the evergreen projects.
