There are sometimes one wonders if we really have an existing/functional government in kogi state. Of what use is a government if it doesn’t serves its purpose.

A cursory examination of the present predicament shows an all-time low zest for life in the state. The defaming security situation at hand explicitly depicts the languishing state of the economy. The recent movement led by faleke and some APC chieftain shows that the administration is not in a peaceful coexistence with the party. The current situation is relatable to the Greek story of iscarus whom despite several cautions not to fly too close to the sun on his waxed wings arrogantly refused to heed the advice and paid the price for that.

The truth be told, Bello is having a pyric and toxic relationship with his political party. I don’t see him having a say in the party upon finishing his tenure as other governors do. Anybody who claims that it’s better to have your enemies at close bay rather than keeping them far away never had many enemies. It’s rather too distasteful to hear that his own enemies are all around him. No thanks to his way of governance.

It’s always easier to rule over happy subjects than angry ones. There is always a thin line between being bold and being arrogant and from recent happenings, Bello has largely overstepped that line. Uprearing with that issue is the recent fall-out with the vice president as he was lately sent back home from the airport on his way abroad. With so much incredulity, one might begin to wonder if there is any atom of humanity in him. The riffraff’s that must have inveigle and beguile him must be from the seventh hell. El-Rufai once said that in one of his books that “hell is empty and the devils are here”; ascribing the personality of the devil to Nigerian politicians. I think he is not far from the truth. The masses are suffering untold hardship and day by day, the destitution only grows worse. Satan himself who is older than sin and twice as mean does reward his workers in most cases. The silence of the state house of assembly over the past year tends to deepen the wounds of the common man. Who do we recourse to when the legislative are made up of men infested with avarice? Only God. Its only pathetic that some people of bias nature doesn’t seem to see the heinous action of the government. Let it be known that he who doesn’t stand for the truth would fall under its wrath. The governor has to retrace his steps and act on what is right. We need the real change!

They say there are three things that can never be hidden eternally, the sun, the moon and the truth. The present government has decided to paint the truth with falsehood.

Indeed, they might have built a wall to shield themselves for the main time but how long would they stay within the wall and how long can the wall stands?

– Abdulkadir Abdullahi.
