On behalf of entire Kogi people, I congratulate our newly elected President Muhammad Buhari. I also greet all the past leaders and the newly elected ones. I greet all Kogi top officials in every part of  the country.  I great Okun people, it shall be well in Jesus name,

Kogi is a state that is blessed with abundant mineral resources. Kogi is blessed with great companies like Ajaokuta Steel and Obajana Cement Company. Despite all these, Kogi people are still crying – workers are not paid regularly, even if they are it is based on percentage. We have poor roads even the federal/state government road after obajana, where the Dangote cement company is located to Kabba is under critical condition.

Currently, Kogi is one of the underdeveloped state and yet our state government and top officials are doing nothing about it. It is so sad one of our companies, Ajaokuta Steel Company, is lying fallow. If we watch it collapse then I pity how Kogi future would be. The company should be a source of raising funds and revenue for the state and the people of the community. Also, if we leave our poor roads like that it would be a shame to the top federal officials, senators, member house of representative and the state house of assembly even the local government caretaker that passes the road while traveling to Abuja or lokoja for official meeting. Even if Aliko Dangote abandon the road because of his ability to fly private jet to his company we Kogi people should not abandon our future. Let us rise and join hands together and make Kogi a better place to live.

I appeal to the new Buhari-led administration and to the state governor, senate, the house of representatives and state house of assembly to please look into our challenges here in Kogi state. We need better roads, adequate power supply, payment of workers salaries on time without the 50% so that kogi people will be happy again.
