#KogiGovRace: Philip Salawu, Ex-Kogi Deputy Gov Dumps PDP, Joins Guber Race

The former Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Dr. Philip Salawu has dumped the People’s Democratic Party, PDP and pitched tent with Labour Party  in his bid to join the governorship race in the state.

Salawu who served under the immediate past governor of state, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris for two terms is now jostling for the number one  sit at Lugard House.

Source told Sunday Mirror that the former Deputy Governor who was a member of PDP board of trustee has converted one of his buildings to his Campaign office in Lokoja, the State capital.

It was gathered that the building located at Lokogoma area of the state capital has been adorned with LP colour, logo and posters of the former Deputy Governor, Dr. Philip Salawu in preparedness for the governorship race.

The same office which was donated to the former President Goodluck Jonathan as Kogi State Campaign  Headquarters is now  wearing a new look.

Chief Salawu who has been agent of change for development had contested PDP governorship primaries twice in 2011, he was part of the PDP primary that produced Alhaji Jubrin Isah (Echocho) and the incumbent Governor, Captain Idris Ichalla Wada.

It was gathered that Chief Salawu will soon make his intention to vie for gubernatorial race public
