#KogiDecides: A Whisper for Dino’s Ears by Stanley Ajileye

My reaction (to the purported meeting organised by Dino Melaye and Clarence Olafemi), naturally would have been to ignore the hocus pocus on the corridor of the ancient philosophy that says ” Call the mad man Bride Groom in order to keep him at abeyance” However I reflected on the saying of our Elder statesman OBJ who once said and I quote, If you refuse to correct a fool, he will count his foolishness as wisdom.

Dino is always in the news. He enjoys it. Even if the news is negative and image attenuating, it matters little to the Dino Melaiye that I know. He is simply in the world of his own. He does not bother about people, let alone what they think about him. A Machiavellian to the core, for him, the ends justify the means. The means may be crooked and bereft of moral justice, Dino that I know will not blink an eye. The Dino that I know can cross a river and burn the bridge behind him to be sure others get stranded at the river’s bank.

Dino to be candid appears to have many things in excess and he uses them as occasion demands in doubles, perhaps to act out that Christian praise song: “Every thing na double-double”. When he speaks, he double speaks; his identity is double. He is seen as anti corruption crusader who is equally alleged to be keeping illegal foreign accounts for years now. Dino equally played out the fact that nature (not God) was generous to him in character by showing them double; He presents himself fighting the course of the poor and the oppressed even as he allegedly parked in his garage, the most expensive cars in the country. Don’t mind if the cars are not built for Nigerian roads.

Dino it was, by reliable information, that allegedly broke the news of Audu’s death to INEC, before the result of the November 21st election was declared thereby plunging Kogi State into the present quagmire. How did it happen?

On the day of the election, many of us were in Faleke’s house for advance celebration. I am not the party type, I left Faleke’s house at about 11 pm leaving my wife and children with him to enjoy the celebration with friends. One of Faleke’s drivers brought my family to my house at about 2 am. And my wife told me Faleke was still awake at that time. He may have slept around 3am, because, as the humble man that he is, he will not want to abandon his guest and go to bed. Sleeping that late, Faleke was believed to have switched off his phone to be able to take a little rest until about 9 am. Unfortunately, in-between, Mrs Audu allegedly tried reaching Fakeke on phone to intimate him of her husband’s health disposition. When eventually Audu died, and she couldn’t reach Faleke, she decided to send Dino to Faleke, she felt they are brother, being both from IJUMU. Dino allegedly did not tell Faleke despite having the numbers of so many people around Faleke through whom he could relay the message. His choice as alleged, was to call INEC. Only God knows Dino’s mission. We are taking our notes.

Dino it was, who allegedly first sent a position paper to APC leaders asking them to consider the option of Mohammed Audu as replacement for his father, This is not because he loved Mohammed or the Igala people. He only does not want any political office holder higher than his own in Kogi West.

Ironically, the same Dino it was, who rose at the APC headquarters in Abuja during the ignominious substitution meeting, praising the commitment of Faleke in the last election,. He said Faleke is his brother and that as an Okun man he wants his rightful mandate restored to him. People at the meeting knew that Dino will always say what he doesn’t mean and mean what he never said. He is well talented in character, identity and personality switch.

Less than 24hours afterwards, Dino was captured as he led his brother, Clarence Olafemi to Yahaya Bello to lobby for him ignorantly, the position of Deputy Gubernatorial candidate, despite publicly urging Faleke to go to court to press for his mandate. We are tasking shots of his double face.

I wish to whisper to Senator Dino, that he should stop throwing stones inside his glass house. The bridge of the defence of Kogi West, which he is recklessly determined to burn down today, he may need on his way back in less than four years from today. Unfortunately too, the back of Buhari may not be so smooth to ride on for Dino again.

Dino, Clarence Olafemi, WE ARE WATCHING YOUR DANCE STEPS.
