Kogi Specialist Hospital to Train Doctors in Family Medicine

The Kogi State owned Specialist Hospital, Lokoja, has been accredited to train doctors in family medicine.

This was contained in a statement signed by Chief Press Secretary to the state governor, Mr Richard Elesho.

He said with approval by two regulatory institutions in the country, the state government’s effort towards effective healthcare delivery has recorded a major boost.

The statement added that the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Paul Amodu, disclosed this while briefing Governor Idris Wada on current developments at the hospital.

“A letter signed by acting Registrar of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria, Dr. S.S Sule and addressed to the Specialist Hospital says that the department be granted full accreditation for five years to train eight junior and four senior students in family medicine,” part of the statement read.
