Kogi Police Arrest 5 Kidnappers, 14 Other Criminal Suspects

Kogi State Police Command has arrested five suspected kidnappers and fourteen other suspects for various offenses in different parts of State .

The State  Commissioner Police, Mr. Emmanuel Ojukwu who disclosed this while parading the 19 suspects at the Police Command Headquarters in Lokoja on Tuesday, stated that the command will not rest on it oars in the war against crime in Kogi state.

Ojukwu explained that the operatives of the state command had on tip off arrested Lawal Jale and two of his friends Abubarka Isah and Iliyasu  both from Katsina state for conspiring to Kidnap and kill one Mallam Muazu Yahaya.

The State Commissioner of Police who was represented by the Police Public Relation Officer PPRO, William Anya disclosed that the operatives from the Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS promptly intercepted and arrested the three suspects, noting that investigation is in progress.

In a related development, the Commissioner of Police disclosed that one Usman Waziri of Fulani Camp, Ogale in Ijumu Local Government Area of the state reported that sometimes in July 2015, unknown gunmen invaded his house and kidnapped him into unknown destination for four days.

Also paraded was one Mudashiru Mustapha who allegedly threatened to  kidnap one Mukaila Ahmed Ita of Ita Global Oil and Gas, Ankpa on Phone and demanded for N10,000,000 (Ten Million), after bargaining he accepted to pay cash of N1.5million and when the suspect came to collect the money he was arrested.

Other suspect paraded was Toluhi Anthony who is allegedly specialized in car snatching was about to sell Honda Accord Car EOD, Operative of SARS on receiving information swung into action and arrested the suspect immediately.

The Police boss noted that all the suspected criminal elements would be charged to Court, as investigation is going on.

The police boss however called on the public to support the force in eradicating crime in the state just as he added that the police will continue to make life uneasy for criminals in Kogi State.
