Nigerian Union of Pensioners (NUP) Kogi State Council has given the State Head of Service Moses Atakpa 24 hours within which to retract a statement that pensioners are enjoying harmonized pensions.

State chairman of NUP, Mr. Onu Abdullahi at a press conference in Lokoja said the head of service told lies to the people.

“We should have asked for his resignation, but we are giving him the next 24 hours to retract his statement. The state government has never harmonized us since 2004 and between 2004 till date despite the fact that there were series of Salary review for civil servants.”

He said the pensioners are preparing for the mother of all protests in the State.
Abdullahi indicated that the Head of service went on air to tell the whole world that pensions have been harmonized in Kogi State, which was a blanket lie.

“We have never seen a man heading the civil service of this State that will go on air to tell the world a very serious lie, a lie that affects human existence.”
