Kogi: KYPS Begs President Buhari to Act on The Appeal of Senator Ogembe To Fill Ministerial Vacuum

The umbrella body for Power Shift in Kogi State, Kogi Youth Power Shift (KYPS), a Positive Change Advocate has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to act on the appeals of the Senator Representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Senator Ahmed Ogembe to fill the vacuum left by the decease of late Bar. James Eneojo Ocholi, SAN.

A statement signed by the President of the group, Prince Suleiman Adinoyi, on Friday, stressed that filling the vacuum will go beside way in improving the blameless effort of the Honourable Minister of labour and employment, Sen. (Dr.) Chris Nwabueze Ngige and more importantly in making the voice of Kogi people to be held in the facet of labour and employment.

KYPS further maintained that the appointment of Bar James Ocholi, SAN by President Buhari as the minister of state for labour and employment was a welcome development of which the people of the state welcomed and accorded deference if not death that fronted us since February, 2016 which was about 7 months ago.

The group while emphasizing on the importance of this appeal, it reflected as rightly stated by Senator Ogembe on the section 147 sub-section 3 of the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria which provides that Mr. President shall appoint one minister from each state.

The KYPS statement read, “The Kogi Youth Power Shift, Advocate for Positive Change having read the appeal by Senator Ahmed Ogembe to President Buhari to fill the vacuum created by the death of Barr. James Ocholi, SAN hereby maintained and beseech on the same stance for quick thoughtfulness”.

The group while praying and sympathizing with Late Bar. James Ocholi and family, it further pleads with President Buhari to put this appeal to swift action by starting the process of genuine stakeholder consultation with a view to filling the vacuity.
