A group, the Anti Corruption Network, has decried what it described as delay in cash flow to states by the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) The group called on the National Assembly to investigate the reason behind the development.

Its coordinator in Kogi State, Mr. Moses Adedeji, who spoke during a chat with journalists in Lokoja, called for the immediate resignation of the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo- Iweala.

According to him, the minister’s economy policies are not only misleading, but driving the country towards a perilous end following the inability of FAAC to disburse money appropriately to states.

Adedeji said: “Having being in the news for the wrong reasons since inauguration in 2011, President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration appears to have finally found itself in perilous time by suddenly becoming irredeemably bankrupt and incapable of disbursing allocations to the tiers of government in the past three months.

“Many states are finding it difficult to pay their workers’ salaries and local contractors thereby grinding the business of governance to a near halt.

“Lacking in wisdom and political will to tackle the security challenges facing the nation; engaging in politics of democratising corruption in a game plan for 2015 and bereft of ideas with regards to resolving minor issues like the Academic Staff of Universities Union (ASUU) crisis, the Jonathan administration is only desperately clinging to power after stealing the nation blind.

“We in Anti-Corruption Network in Kogi State, therefore, call for the immediate resignation of the Minister of Finance and the Coordinating Minister of the economy, Dr. Okonjo- Iweala.
