Kogi FA Elections: Stakeholders Vote for Elections to Go On As Scheduled

46 stake holders voted against nine in support of the elections into the state executives of Kogi State Football Association to hold as scheduled on Friday 27th.

This was unanimously agreed after a stake holders at the meeting went into voting which was presided over by the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF Chairman of Committee for State Elections, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau in Lokoja on Tuesday.

There were queries and allegations from aspirants and certain groups who earlier expressed dissatisfaction with the processes of elections especially the number of delegates approved to vote at the polls.

One of the aspirants for the chairmanship position, Comrade Ibrahim Mohammed who was not satisfied by voice voting asked that the voting should be done by counting. That resulted to having 46 members supporting the elections to go on as fixed as against nine who opposed it.

At the meeting that took place at the indoor hall of Confluence Stadium, Lokoja Alhaji Gusau urged the warring parties to put interest of state football first adding that the state is most important to the NFF as football family.

Alhaji Gusau who is also the NFF Chairman of chairmen said the federation was working towards supporting the state FAs financially just as he called on the delegates to vote wisely and election a passionate, result oriented person as the state chairman.

Chairman, electoral committee for Kogi FA elections, Alhaji Umar Inuwa who confirmed that the elections will hold on Saturday charged the aspirants to play by the rules guiding the process.

Top contestants for the chairmanship position in the Kogi elections are the Team Manager of FC Lokoja, Mallam Suleiman Umar and Chairman of Okehi Local Government, Hassan Okehi Yusuf.
