Kogi Executive Council Okays Public Transport Infrastructure Development Projects

In what shall give a major facelift to Lokoja, Kogi state capital, the State Executive Council has granted an approval to the Ministry of Transportation to embark on Public Transport Infrastructure Development Projects across the metropolis during it’s weekly council meeting of Wednesday 20th September, 2017.
In a disclosure made by the Commissioner for Transportation, Prince Sani Ogu Salisu shortly after the meeting, he appraised the commitment of Governor Yahaya Bello at repositioning the state noting that “the projects are not only going to serve legacy purposes but improve facilities and by large extension, man power.”
The projects approved includes the construction of New Confluence City Gate to serve a welcome purpose to the confluence state for commuters coming from Abuja, Improvement Works on road junctions within Lokoja township and construction of Bus stop Shelters within Lokoja.
Also approved were the construction of two Mini Terminals at Zango Daji and Ganaja Village to serve as Inter-City Parks such that all the existing Parks within Lokoja metropolis will be relocated to as approval was equally given for the refurbishing of the Lokoja Mega Terminal for all the Parks within the Lokoja township, New Market, Nataco and roadside traders to be relocated to for Inter-State Transit through Additional Works and subsequent completion to swing it into full operations.
It will be recalled that Lokoja, the state capital is the connecting state between the Northern and Southern Nigeria comprising of the North, South, East and West. Therefore, the state capital shall witness and improved facelift upon the completion of these most especially, the Confluence City Gate which shall be the first of its kind since centuries existence of Lokoja, the state capital.
