Kogi East Senate: Court Begins Hearing of Aidoko’s N1 Billion Suit Against Malami Feb 7

The 1 Billion Naira suit instituted against the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami SAN by Senator Atai Aidoko Ali  has been fixed till February 7, 2018 for commencement of the substantive hearing.
Aidoko, representing Kogi East, instituted the legal proceeding challenging ‎to request, via a secret memo written to INEC, by Malami directing the electoral body to revalidate the APC senate candidate, Abdulrahman Abubakar and simultaneously withdraw the certificate of return issued to Aidoko.
At the commencement of the hearing, presiding judge, Binta Nyanko ordered interested parties to file their process indicating interest. The case has been adjourned ‎twice to enable parties comply.
Few months ago, Malami resorted to using extra-judicial arrangement to return Abubakar back to the Senate.
The electoral body has earlier turned down the subtle request by the AGF‎ saying it negates the democratic procedures and against the rule of law.
