Kogi Confluence Wins Maiden Kada Beach Soccer Cup

Kogi Confluence Beach Soccer team has emerged champions of the maiden Kada Beach Soccer 2016 after defeating Anambra United 11-5 at the Muritala Mohammed Square, Kaduna on Sunday.
The Coach Adamu Ejor’s side secured a hundred percent record winning four matches, defeating Anambra United, Kada Stars, Highlanders and Badagry United to claim the giant trophy of the three-day championship.
Kada Stars of Kaduna finished as first runners up with nine points from three victories aside defeat to winners Kogi to win the silver.
While Anambra United claim the third place bronze as Badagry United and Highlanders with three and one point finished fourth and fifth respectively.
Kogi’s Emeka Ogbonna was named the most valuable player and also claimed the highest goals scorer gong with 15 goals, while Nurudeen Mudashiru of Kada Stars emerged the best goalkeeper of the tournament.
Captain of Kogi team, Victor Tale praised his teammates and coaches for their feat, dedicating the trophy to the state Governor Yahaya Bello for his sporting support which helped them excel at the event.
Coordinator of the tournament, Isa Abdul lauded the support of the Kaduna state government and national president of beach volleyball Musa Nimrod, while expressing delight over the successful hosting of the first beach soccer championship in the northern Nigeria.
Also speaking, Engineer Nimrod assured that the event will be sustained in providing platform for talented players to do the country proud from the region.
