Kogi Assembly: Court Adjourns Impeached Speaker’s Suit to April 22

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, yesterday, adjourned hearing on the suit challenging the supposed impeachment of the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Momoh Jimoh Lawal.

Justice Nnamdi Dimgba adjourned the suit to enable the applicants to study a counter affidavit by the five lawmakers accused of initiating the impeachment.

The five lawmakers: Umar Imam; Friday Sani; Lawal A.T. Ahmed; Bello Abdullahi and John Abah, through their counsels M.T. Musa and Umar Abdullahi, brought the reply and served the applicants on Monday.
Others listed as defendants in the suit are: the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF); Inspector General of Police (IGP); Director-General, Department of State Services (DSS) and the Commandant of the National Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
