It no longer news hat the kogi state Government mechanism is idle, thereby giving birth to anarchy and chronic political and administrative blunders and abuse of power/office.

Can you imagine a governor and his cabinet members waking up in the morning traveling several kilometers around the state in the jeeps not to commission even a single bore-hole or a single kilometer road but just to demolish houses of those Yahaya Bello called criminals and kidnappers.

I call them ‘Gov. Yahaya Bello-called criminals and kidnappers because none of them has been convicted by the court. Moreover, common sense should have told our judiciary-implanted governor that those buildings are economic valuable that can be seized and converted to purposeful socio-economic use after obtaining the necessary court approval.

Unfortunately, we are having a democratic mantle and mechanism of government that is idle and hence more inclined to destruction than construction. Even Borno and Yobe who are the headquarters of terrorism and insecurity never thought of such approach aimed at destroying economic resources. Very very unfortunate is the abuse of power and destruction of administrative and constitutional laid down ways of carrying out governance in the state.

Can you imagine that the office of the so-called first lady has now replaced the office of the Deputy Governor of the state? The first lady, who has no constitutionally recognized position, now goes about commissioning renovated/rehabilitated (not newly constructed) bore-holes and other projects in the absence of the Governor. Something that suppose to be the constitutional responsibility of the deputy governor serving in the absence of the governor.

The lack of trust and confidence by the civil servant on the government created by the most confused administrative policy called screening and verification of workers, has created a huge vacuum in the state administrative and socio-economic setup that will take years to re-build and amend. Naturally, for a healthy and progressive growth of a polity, both the administrative and political sub sector must work in complete harmony and peace. But unfortunately in Kogi state, this is absent making the state to move in auto-reverse direction, which has given birth to poverty, hunger, insecurity and infrastructural decay.

While we await the mechanism of governance to be active in the state our hope for total liberation of the from political assassination lies in 2019. Our PVCs will speak for us.
