The people of Mopamuro local government area had a first hand opportunity of interacting and discussing their problems and challenges with the Administrator, Hon. Moses Sunday David when he toured the ten wards of the local government beginning from Oroke ward 08 of the Amuro axis of the local government on Monday 4th, September and ended it in ward 03 of the Mopa axis.
According to the media aide to the council helmsman, Osasuyin John, the initiative is first of it kind that an Administrator or a Council Chairperson of the local government would embark on this kind of tour to discuss peoples problem and not politics.
In his words, “the visit was not to campaign but a fact finding and familiarisation tour as the representative of His Excellency Yahaya Bello and the government of New Direction to access your problems and challenges with the aim of proffering solutions within the confine of our resources and getting the very proactive government of New Direction involved in ameliorating your plights”.
The Administrator, who was accompanied by his Wife, Mrs Omowumi Moses, the Director of Local Government, Mr James Oni Ayedogbon, the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon Segun Arogbonlo and all Supervisory Councillors and Special Advisers reiterated the commitment of Governor Yahaya Bello to take Kogi to greater heights.
At the palace of Elulu of Mopa, Oba Funsho Joledo and the Council of Chiefs prayed for the success of the Administrator while pledging their support for the government of New Direction under His Excellency Yahaya Bello.
The mammoth crowd that welcomed Hon Sunday Moses and his entourage all through the wards is a sign of his popularity and acceptability by the good people of Mopamuro. Women groups, youths and students, party loyalists; all seems to be satisfied with the performance of the Administrator so far.
Bags of rice and money were handed over to ward leaders to be distributed to people irrespective of party affiliations or political leanings.
“This is government for all and we must serve all,” he said.
