A group under the aegis of Kogi Unity Forum has resolved to endorse Prince Abubakar Audu to contest for the forthcoming Kogi State gubernatorial election.

Audu was two times governor of Kogi state. His first tenure was from January 1992 to November 1993 while his second tenure spanned from May, 1999 to May, 2003.

In a statement issued and signed by the President of the Forum in the 19 Northern states, Ali Yakubu Salifu, the group said it has resolved to support the candidature of Audu considering his legacies in road networks, water supply, rural electrification, basic infrastructural facilities, social services, health services and human capital development among others.

Salifu further commented Audu for bringing innovation to Kogi State which he said includes Kogi State University Ayingba; Confluence Beach Hotel Lokoja, Kogi State; Commissioners’ Quarters and Obajana Cement among others.

He said Audu also contributed immensely to APC’s victory in the last presidential election in Kogi State.

“A State that does not have even a single political appointment was able to win the three Senatorial seats, six out of the nine House of Representatives members, and 11 State House of Assembly Members against 13 members of PDP. In view of the above, we have resolved amicably to support the candidature of Audu, the man of probity, equity, accountability, dynamic and purposeful leader. We therefore endorse Prince Audu as the gladiator to contest for the 2016 election,” he said.
