Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Customs and Deputy Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in the last Governorship election in Kogi State, James Abiodun Faleke has urged Nigerians to eschew divisive tendencies and embrace love of one another while promoting issues that can unite the various entities in the country.
He made this remark in a statement issued yesterday to felicitate with Muslims on this year’s Sallah celebration.
According to him, the current fragile political atmosphere in the country occasioned by primordial agitations and hate speeches here and there would lead the nation to nowhere save disunity and underdevelopment.
“We must stop promoting primordial sentiments. We must see ourselves as one and the same people. Nigeria is our country and we have no other country to call our own. Therefore all hands must be on deck to jealously guard our corporate existence from disintegration”.
Hon Faleke  praised  efforts being made by the Acting President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo to douse tension in the country through day- to- day engagements with Traditional, Tribal and religious leaders towards achieving normalcy, adding that it was” better to jaw jaw than to war war”.
He urged Muslims to follow after the pillars of  Islam key of which is peace.
According to him, religious leaders in the country have key roles to play in the quest to to remain one indivisive entity bound together in love and respect for one another.
