The Kogi State Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello has reiterated his commitment to run a diligent government and sternly warned those whose hobby is to siphon government’s fund to keep off.

The Governor made the declaration recently in Reverton Hotel, Lokoja during an interactive session with the youths as part of activities marking his one hundredth day in office. He noted that his administration met plethora of problems which are principally man-made to sabotage smooth running of governance in the state.

According to him, ethnicity, religion and class segregation have deprived the state the spirit of oneness. ”This has been used to divide us within those period, the privileged few has  capitalized on it, blindfolded us and milked us dry. My administration has decided to make these things that divides us a taboo”, he vowed.

The governor added that while his administration is poised to build ‘Kogi State of our dreams’ and recover the looted funds, attention will be paid to critical sectors that have direct bearing on the people.

“Our focus is on education, health (women and children), job creation and entrepreneurship (SMEs, agri-business, eco-tourism and mining), rural and urban infrastructural development and civil service reform.

“We are designing free schools on the 3 Senatorial districts with quality facilities. Every month from 239 wards of the state, youths and women will be empowered throughout my administration” the Governor announced.

He urged the people of the state to be of good character and integrity and equally be ready to render selfless service in order to move Kogi State to a desired height of development.
