Eid-el-Kabir: Awoniyi Felicitates With Muslim Faithfuls

Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi has congratulated muslims on this year’s celebration of Eid-el-Kabir.

In his message to felicitate with Muslims, Awoniyi called on Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for sustained peace and stability of the country.

Awoniyi equally enjoined Nigerians to live in peace and love with one another, noting that no meaningful development can thrive in an atmosphere of violence and instability.

Awoniyi urged for respect of the tenets of Islam which call for peace and hope that people should maintain peace and be their brother’s keeper,” Awoniyi, said.

He also urged Nigerians, especially Muslims, to pray for peace and unity of the country, called for tolerance among adherents of different faiths in the State.

The Deputy Governor admonished Muslim faithful to use the celebration of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir to re-establish pillars of love and tolerance among their neighbors.

He also enjoined Muslims to use this period in re-dedicating themselves to the life of sacrifice as exemplified by the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his only son in obedience to God’s will.

Eid-el-Kabir, the Deputy Governor, explained is all about sacrifice, urged the people of the state to rededicate themselves to the service of the state and to the administration of Capt Idris Wada.

Awoniyi also congratulated Gov Idris Wada, on the Eid-el- Kabir occasion, commended the governor for his style of inclusive leadership, describing him as the best thing to have happened to the state in this period of its history.
