The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) yesterday rejected the result of the Kogi State governorship election released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Chief Campaign Strategist for the party, Otunba Dino Melaye, described the results released by INEC as fallacious, malicious, fabricated, totally untrue and not a true reflection of the wishes and aspirations of voters as expressed.

“I also bring to your notice that policemen and women were withdrawn from most polling units in Kogi yesterday. This was deliberate to facilitate the electoral fraud as manifested in the results released this afternoon” , he said.

Melaye alleged that INEC, in collaboration with the police, gave duplicate result sheets with same serial numbers as those distributed to the polling units to the PDP.

“This way, results recorded at the polling stations were discarded while other results written on the duplicate result sheet with same serial number were announced.”

“The ACN in Kogi State rejects in its entirety the manipulated, malicious, fabricated and totally untrue election results just announced by INEC. There is no way our party can accept it. PDP had shown Nigerians that rigging was in its DNA”

Melaye claimed that the PDP used two result sheets with the same serial numbers so that whatever was written on the sheets at the polling centre could be manipulated at the collation centres at the ward, local government and state levels.

The former member of the House of Representatives said, “The results recorded at the polling stations were discarded while other results written on the duplicate result sheet with same serial number were announced.

The dogged politician was however confident that “the stolen mandate will be recovered, the connivance notwithstanding’’.
