Cannabis Farm Destroyed in Olamaboro

The police in Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State have destroyed large hectares of cannabis farm at Egoro village in the local government area.

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Mr John Keshi, who led the operation, told Olamaboro Council Chairman, Hon. Farouk Adejoh that the police acted on information made available to his office on the existence of the cannabis farm in the area.

He said one Mallam Ogwu Hassan Abraham suspected to be the owner of the cannabis farm has been apprehended, warning owners of such illegal farms to stay away from the area or face the full wrath of the law.

Mr Keshi declared that his men were prepared to track down people involved in lawless activities in the area, adding that the Police would continue to protect lives and properties in the area.

He implored the public to always give the police necessary information that could help the police to rid the society of criminal activities.

Reacting to the development, the council chairman, Hon. Farouk Adejoh declared that his administration would continue to support the police in the area, maintaining that he was impressed with activities of the new DPO in the area.

He told the DPO to ensure that those caught breaking the laws of the land should be made to face the music, and appealed to the police to continue to rid the area of criminals.
