Ahead of the much talked about 2019 Kogi governorship election, a group of Igala students have issued ‘sack letter’ to the Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.
The ‘sack letter’ signed by Comrade Abdulmalik Idris on behalf of Igala PDP Students Association, the group explained that their position is based on Governor Bello’s poor records in education and health sectors of the state economy.
The letter reads in part; “The entire Igala students all over Nigeria have issued a sack letter to Alhaji Yahaya Bello Adoza ahead of 2019 general elections.
“This position was agreed upon based on the sorry state of education in our dear Igalaland coupled wit the mass sack of notable and valuable lecturers at Kogi State University, Anyigba.
“Also, our hospitals are decaying. Our people have resorted to local medication due to the failure of Governor Bello’s administration.
“The continuous refusal of Governor Yahaya Bello to pay our dear responsible parents’ salary has made them unable to pay our school fees. This has caused a lot of turmoil in the daily activities of our dear parents. So many of our parents have not been paid salaries for over 15 months due to an unending, rudderless screening exercise by a group of confused individuals.
“We, the Igala PDP Students Association have come together to ensure justice in Kogi State by making sure our votes count come 2019.
