2015: Yomi Awoniyi Predicts Peaceful, Free and Fair Elections

Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi has solicited the support of Nigerians towards the peaceful conduct of the 2015 general election.

The State Deputy Governor made the call when he granted audience to youth groups in Mopamuro LGA at the weekend.

Awoniyi while predicting a peaceful, free and fair 2015 election with the cooperation of all Nigerians, disclosed that going by the records of achievements of the Governor Wada led administration in the state, achievements which he explained cuts across all sectors, would no doubt propel the People’s Democratic Party in the State to victory in the forth coming general election in 2015.

Awoniyi urged the youths to shun acts that will impede the smooth conduct of the next years general election, and appealed to them not to allow selfish politicians use them to foment trouble.

Awoniyi described all candidates of the PDP in the next years general election in the state as credible, who will win convincingly at the polls, urged the youths to join in the campaign for a violent free election.

While noting that the present administration of Capt Idris Wada has invested heavily in the education sector, a sector he stated is the bedrock for sustainable development, he added that youth empowerment and development has equally topped the priority agenda of the present administration in the state.

Awoniyi disclosed that despite the economic hardship and lean resources acruing to the State from the federation account, the state government he stated has paid the salaries of workers in the state till date, in contrast to what obtains in other states.

While noting that the administration of Capt Wada has been accountable, and has managed the resources accruing to the state in the most efficient manner, Awoniyi commended the Governor for been able to meet the yearning and aspiration of the citizens of the state amidst challenges.

The Deputy Governor called on youths in the state to engage in viable ventures that will help secure their future, and maintained that as future leaders, the present administration in the state is laying a solid foundation that will help them realize their dreams and potentials.

Awoniyi lauded the efforts of the present administration at curbing thugry and violence in the state since it’s assumption of office.

Speaking on behalf of the groups, Bamidele Ore, praised the present administration in the state for giving youths in the state a sense of belonging.  Bamidele assured of the support of the youths in the peaceful conduct of next year’s polls, disclosing that the governor’s efforts at youths development has earned him their electoral support.
