The leadership of Network for Change and Good Governance, NCGG, has vowed to sue the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for embarrassing Kogi State and foisting illegality on the people.

Speaking to newsmen yesterday, the National Chairman of NCGG, Comrade Ismaila Yusuf Atumeyi, said his 1.2 million member strong group has resolved to sue INEC and the Attorney General of the Federation at Federal High Court, Abuja.

The Chairman, who also an indigene of Kogi state, expressed disappointment in the Professor Yakubu-led INEC for failing to build on past successes of INEC. He also lampooned the AGF for giving partisan advise to the electoral body. He wondered if Malami is Attorney General of the Federation or Attorney General of APC.

“We at NCGG are not against any tribe producing Governor of Kogi state but he/she must emerge through legitimate process. INEC is embarrassing us in Kogi state”, he said.

“How can INEC declare Yahaya Bello winner with 6,885 votes as against PDP’s 204,887 ? The two hundred and forty thousand votes are meant for late Prince Audu and these cannot be inherited. We will sue INEC for N2b damages!”

“I will advice Alhaji Yahaya Bello not to spend much of his money celebrating this illegal mandate. The best he can be is an Interim Governor that will not last beyond six months. Also, within this six months, Yahaya Bello must be mindful not to lavish Kogi state money on selfish interests as all will be accounted for.

Atumeyi called on INEC chairman and the AGF to resign from their positions while urging Kogi youths to remain calm and peaceful.
